About Derrik Anderson

Founder's Bio

Derrik Anderson is a nationally recognized leadership strategist and mastermind coach who helps executives and mid-level leaders advance in their careers using a practical, measurable approach. As a subject matter expert in systems building, Derrik creates something rare, a confidential, high-level space where leaders can be honest about where they are, clear about where they're going, and held accountable to getting there. With more than 25 years of experience leading across the nonprofit, health and human services, government, education, and corporate sectors, Derrik has guided organizations through complex challenges, built cross-sector coalitions, and developed leaders at every level. As the inaugural Executive Director of Race Matters for Juvenile Justice, he led a nationally recognized coalition that trained more than 7,100 professionals, facilitated over 260 workshops, and implemented measurable policy reforms bringing together judges, attorneys, educators, government officials, and community leaders around systemic change that lasted. That experience gave me a clear-eyed view of where capable leaders get stuck, executives and mid-level leaders who lack the strategic visibility to move up, senior leaders carrying high-stakes decisions without a trusted peer group, and managers who can execute but haven't yet learned to think at the next level. That's the gap he built D. Anderson & Associates to close. Through executive coaching, curated mastermind cohorts, and leadership intensives, Derrik delivers what most leadership development doesn't: strategy, accountability, and a plan leader(s) believe in. His work spans boardrooms, classrooms, and national conference stages, and he is a published author and respected voice in the fields of social work, racial equity, and leadership development.
